Energy Storage Systems (ESS) are systems that store energy and stabilise electrical performance in big grid installations as well as midsize commercial to residential buildings. The primary building blocks of ESS are lithium-ion batteries, which, in conjunction with inverter or Power Conditioning Systems (PCS), assist the ESS in managing peak and off-peak power requirements of the area or household. ESS captures extra power generated by green energy resources such as solar and wind power, hence avoiding significant frequency fluctuations.
